Worked Perfectly

By Joshua C. on Jun 05, 2023
Worked flawlessly. The Lee one I had ripped rims off the cases. This Hornady shell holder fit tight and perfectly. Very happy

Does not work with Privi Partizan Brass

By Jeff T. on Mar 26, 2023
Hornady’s shell holder does not work with my supply of Privi Partizan brass. As far as I know Privi Partizan is the only current day supplier of brass for Carcano rifles. You’re better off using the Lee #12 shell holder.

Does not work!

By Gary B. on Mar 31, 2022
Bought to use with the Hornady 6.5 Carcano dies. Brass will slide in the shell holder but leaves a gap between the bottom of the brass and the platform in the shell holder that the brass should rest on. It appears that the top bevel is not large enough and the bevel on the brass extraction groove rests on the bevel of the shell holder. This will cause inconsistent and over sizing of the brass. Not acceptable.

Fits like a glove

I purchased these after reading that the standard Lee Carcano shell holder was very loose fitting which it turns out is very true. The Carcano Hornady Shell Holders for the 6.5x52 Carcano/7.35x51 Carcano fits new PRVI PARTIZAN BRASS perfectly! The only issue I can see with it not fitting is if your rifle damages the rims of your used brass. The tight fit may not allow damaged brass to fit properly. That is common for many of my shell holders if the brass rim gets dinged. You may need to repair the brass rim by filing a bit or just fiddle with the brass until it goes into the holder. I have not test fired this brass yet so that is TBD for my rifles. Still very happy I purchased the Hornady shell holders to replace the Lee's that came with the Lee die sets.

It does what it is supposed to

By David C. on Dec 12, 2019
Nothing spectacular here - It just does what it's supposed to - hold a 7.35 Carcano case during reloads. I've never had a problem with it.

very pleased

By Jack M. on Mar 28, 2019
I just loaded my first 50 rounds using this shell holder. It works like a charm. After reading the reviews about the lee shell holder not holding the brass, I decided to get this one. I am very glad I did. It works great, and the reviews about the lee holder were correct

Does Hornady test these with actual brass?

By Jeffrey E. on Apr 30, 2016
I purchased these so that I could reload for my carcanos in 7.35 and 6.5 carcano. Despite these claiming to be for this caliber, and my testing brass from multiple sources including Italian military surplus, most cases would only fit partly into the holder without removing both the shell holder and the case from the press to apply the needed force to seat the case in the shell holder. Despite these measures, some brass STILL did not fit. I am very disappointed with Hornady on this product
