My new go-to long range brass
By Shawn P.
on Mar 07, 2019
Lapua use to be my go to brass. A friend at one of our long range matches suggested Peterson to me about a year ago. Ultimately I decided to try it because it was made in USA, and the price. I ordered 100 pieces before graf sold it. In my precision rifle, this brass produces as good or better accuracy, SD’s, and brass life. In fact, the best 1000yd groups I have ever shot was with Peterson brass. My current load produces 2980fps, SD=2, and average 1000yd groups (3 separate 5shot groups)= 3.25”

I am pleased with the Peterson Brass. this brass is the perfect weight all brass was within 5/10's being the same weight.

Primer pockets are way too tight. Takes a lot of force to seat primers flush. After seating primers have ring shaped indentation around the edge. Not sure if the primers are part of the problem but I got a lot of misfires on the first firing of this brass after applying so much force to seat the primer.

Love this Brass. Weighs in a little heavier even than lapua. Have 7 reloads on current stock. Primer pockets are tight as factory new. Concentric necks from factory. This is Match grade brass at a great price, and comes with a very nice ammo box.

Picked up some after talking to a trusted friend, it was everything he said it was. Packaging is first rate, consistency is impressive. Time will tell if it last as long as Lapua, but it is off to a great start.

Top notch Brass, I’m going to order more and I’m spreading the word about how consistent it shoots. Thanks Peterson and Graf & Sons

This is great brass, consistent and prepped (chamfered) right out of the box. So far I only have about 4 loadings on this brass but primer pockets are as tight as when the brass was new. Me like!

I am very happy with my initial purchase of 100pcs of the Peterson 6.5 Creedmoor SRP brass. This brass specs out equal to or better than all the other top shelf brass I have used. I've loaded and fired 50pcs so far and my Ruger RPR is maintaining 1/4" to 3/8" groups at 100yrds. I will be buying more of this brass soon and I've decided to include some Peterson .308 SRP brass.
P.S. ~ the Peterson ammo box is really nice too! It's worth the extra $ for me to buy the brass in the 50pc unit just to get the ammo box!

Just received my brass and weighed all the brass and found less than one grain of variation in 100 pieces.

I was looking for a way to tighten up my groups at 200 yards and a friend told me about Peterson's Brass for the 6.5 creedmoor with the small primer pockets. This brass with small rifle benchrest primers turned a 1/2" group at 200 yards into a 1/4" group at 200 yards.

Very happy with this purchase, based on initial inspection. Spot checked ten cases for neck wall thickness and found less than 0.001" variance. Came in a nice plastic container with individual compartments for each case. Can't wait to reload them.

Peterson 6.5 Creedmoor Small primer cases

Received order a couple of weeks ago and cases were shipped in nice plastic ammo boxes with slots for each case so they were protected. Cases were very consistent with little variation. First time for me using this brand and also small primer cases. Loaded and reloaded 50 cases and very pleased thus far. Bought small primer cases to overcome large primer cases that are allowing expansion of primer holes. Will know more over the next few weeks but I am encouraged at this time.
